St James supports many organisations and undertakes many fund raising activities in support of the needy during each year. We have listed some of these below:

Strathyre Girls Home

Stathyre, one of the Salvation Army's child and youth care centre, is home to 50 girls aged between 3 and 18, who come to us through the Children's Court after suffering varying degrees of abuse, neglect, povery and/or abandonment.

Avalon Association - Resedential Facility for the Physically Disabled

Avalon is a residential facility for the physically disabled based in Kensington, Johannesburg. They strive to restore dignity and usefulness to their disabled residents by replaing despair and dependancy with vision and purpose.

Beanies for Teenies

On a yearly basis, member's of St James and guests get together to knit, pack and sort beanies for children's home, social workers, materinity hospitals, rural clinics, mid-wives and the "Babies Behind Bars" organisation. Avalon is a residential facility for the physically disabled based in Kensington, Johannesburg. They strive to restore dignity and usefulness to their disabled residents by replaing despair and dependancy with vision and purpose.
